Version 14 News: It’s Done!

We are pleased to announce that Tessitura Version 14 is now available for your organization. Resource Scheduling, a new payments code, a new system for email templates and a new Contact Permissions feature (see below) are all part of v14. Read about the new release in the What’s New document. For everyone here, a new release is an exciting time!

Contact Permissions

Contact Permissions, a new feature of Version 14, are designed to track opt-in and opt-out marketing and sharing permissions. This functionality was designed around UK Data Protection regulations allowing constituents to state their data sharing preferences. Contact Permissions can automatically be displayed following a transaction, based on the constituent’s last response date. You can also set up permission questions that are tied to the purchase of specific products. In addition, new options have been added to the Extractions Manager to automatically respect Contact Permissions. Here is a look at the Contact Permissions pop-up window, optionally presented at the end of a ticket order:

Support and Version 14

We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new Service Pack model for defect resolution deployment that will replace standalone hotfixes in conjunction with the release of Tessitura v14. Currently in the Works

Right now, we are hard at work on several things. Bulk Copy is a feature that will allow you to easily copy events to multiple days or even copy a whole day’s calendar of events, including packages, to multiple dates. On the Business Intelligence front, we’re working through a new UI and workflow design for Lists and Outputs. We are on the third or fourth iteration of this but when you build something new, it sometimes takes a few tries! Also, we’re working hard on merging the new Tessitura Analytics suite into the rest of the application. This means we’re focusing on things like integrating the Tessitura security model into our Analytics tools and getting TIM (Tessitura Installation Manager) ready to install the Analytics software. Finally, we’re working hard on design and architecture for the start of the constituent web application in Version 15. You will see plenty of the new designs for v15 unveiled at TLCC.

Tessitura SOAP API End of Life Set for 2019

In February, we announced an important milestone in Tessitura development. With Version 14 comes the first version of the new REST API that can handle the transactional functionality needed for websites and other applications. With that, we have begun the phase out of the legacy SOAP API. You can read much more about this here

Development Sandbox Now with V.14

The Development sandbox has now been updated with the latest build of v14 and we invite you to log in and try out some of the new features, including Resource Scheduling. You can also experiment with other new features like the newly redesigned Payments Window, Contact Point Permissions and much more. If your organization doesn’t already have a login and you would like one, contact us at roadmap@tessituranetwork.com and we will set you up.

Chuck Reif

Chuck Reif

Chief Engineer & Co-Founder

As one of Tessitura Network’s founders, Chuck Reif has been with the company since its inception and remains a technical leader for Tessitura.

As Chief Engineer and Co-Founder, Chuck works closely with Chief Innovation Office John Jakovich to oversee the technical direction of the company and the future functionality of the Tessitura platform.

Chuck joined Tessitura Network from the Metropolitan Opera, where he was project manager for the development of the original Tessitura software. Initially in charge of IT for the Met’s Marketing and Development departments, he became Assistant Director of IT and was responsible for administering the systems that were eventually replaced by Tessitura. Chuck then led the organization-wide effort to design and build what was then called Impresario Software — an extensive project that involved all customer-facing departments over a three and a half year period.

Prior to his career in technology, Chuck worked in the theatre as a professional stage manager for Broadway and national touring productions of such shows as The King and I with Yul Brynner, Hello Dolly with Carol Channing and The Music Man with Dick Van Dyke. After seven years backstage, he began consulting with Broadway producers, helping them to implement effective uses of computer technology. One of his projects at the time was to write the program that tracked the casts of Cats all over the world.

Chuck has a Bachelor of Education (Music and Theatre) from Northern Illinois University. The early years of his career found him doing social work in London, managing a marina in the Virgin Islands and renovating apartments in New York City. But from a very young age he wanted to work in the theatre and is therefore thrilled that the arts are still a major focus of his work. Chuck lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where he enjoys skiing, hiking and cycling.
