The countdown is on to the ninth annual Australia & New Zealand Tessitura Regional User Conference (ANZTRUC), to be held this month in Sydney.
The agenda, released last week, features more than 45 presentations, discussion sessions, trainings, labs and networking events.
Arts and cultural professionals from more than 50 organisations are expected to attend the conference at Sydney’s Sheraton on the Park on Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 April, 2018.

First held at Sydney’s Seymour Centre in February 2010, and annually since then, ANZTRUC is a not-for-profit user-led conference attended by licensees of Tessitura software in the Asia Pacific region. The only multi-disciplinary conference for arts professionals in Australia, it has grown year-on-year and in 2017 attracted more than 275 attendees, all users of Tessitura's unified CRM platform and members of the global Tessitura community of arts and cultural organisations.
ANZTRUC 2018 will be opened by Tessitura Network’s CEO Jack Rubin and President Andrew Recinos, both of whom will travel to Australia for the event. They will be joined in the opening session by Tessitura Network Board Chair Philippe Magid, Executive Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre; and Adriana Law, Head of CRM & Digital Marketing at Opera Australia and President of ANZTRUC Inc., the association that manages the conference.
“As always, ANZTRUC will be a unique opportunity for arts and culture administrators from multiple cities, genres and disciplines in the region to share ideas, problem-solve and innovate.”
The 2018 agenda includes a wide range of topics, case studies and best practices relevant to those working in the arts and culture sector in Australasia. The schedule features peer-to-peer presentations on Corporate Partnerships, Ticket Security, Digital Storytelling, Data-Driven Fundraising, Segmentation, Subscriptions, Digital Innovation, and more.
“This year’s ANZTRUC is highly anticipated by our users and our team,” said Jeremy Dixon, Tessitura Network’s Director, Asia Pacific. “The voluntary Content Planning team has done an exceptional job, led by Tessitura Network’s Amalia Hordern with key support from Andrew Chew of Perth Theatre Trust, Jade Moore from Arts Centre Melbourne, and Sarah Whelan from Bangarra Dance Theatre. As always, ANZTRUC will be a unique opportunity for arts and culture administrators from multiple cities, genres and disciplines in the region to share ideas, problem-solve and innovate. Great ideas and new connections are always sparked at ANZTRUC.”
Highlights at this year’s conference include:
- Regional trends in philanthropy from the inaugural Regional Philanthropy Study 2018 presented by Amalia Hordern, Tessitura Network’s Enterprise Consultant in Asia Pacific.
- Detailed session on Tessitura Analytics, the next generation of Tessitura business intelligence.
- Opportunity for participants to set the discussion agenda with the first ANZTRUC Open Space discussions, led by Beau Vigushin, Director of Ticketing and Visitor Experience for Arts Centre Melbourne.
- Live Innovator Series presentation by Patrick McIntyre, Executive Director for Sydney Theatre Company, who will introduce his new model for demonstrating cultural value.
