The Tessitura Center for Professional Development has announced its first course in the EU.

Fundraising Training on Tessitura will take place in November 2018, with classroom teaching being held at the Birmingham Hippodrome in the UK 25th to 30th November. This comprehensive course covers the full spectrum of fundraising functionality in Tessitura, from campaigns to tracking communication, to plans and portfolios, gift aid, direct debits, and other critical structures and setup.

“We’ve designed this course for everyone,” says Becci Brace, Program Manager for the Tessitura Center for Professional Development: “those who are new to fundraising in Tessitura; the in-house power user looking to develop their skills or train others; or the director who is keen to understand the full reach of what their team can achieve in Tessitura.”

The course begins with online lessons, which are completed at each student’s convenience. The classroom phase at the end of November will offer an intensive learning environment for a small group of students (approximately 15) which will provide the springboard for fundraisers to launch into the rich and comprehensive functionality offered by Tessitura.

“I can't say enough about our instructors and how great they were. And having those contacts when you leave TCPD has been extremely beneficial.”

The classroom is staffed by three expert Tessitura staff instructors, ensuring personalised assistance. Teaching staff are selected both for their high degree of expertise and for their hands-on knowledge of best practices across a variety of genres. And past students of the course have found that their peers become close professional contacts. “I can't say enough about our instructors and how great they were,” said course graduate Heather Litle of the Midland Center for the Arts. In addition, “having those contacts when you leave TCPD has been extremely beneficial.”

After the week of in-person training, students come together for group projects. These projects require students to apply their newly acquired skills to design a Tessitura solution to a real-world scenario

After the course, Kimberly Smith of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art said that she was able to manage a restructucturing of the Museum’s membership programs. “Everything that I had been asked to do prior to going to training, I was able to implement quickly and successfully,” she said.
