More than 340 arts and cultural professionals

are set to gather at Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 April, 2019, for the tenth annual Australia New Zealand Tessitura Regional Users Conference (ANZTRUC).

ANZTRUC is the premier networking and learning event for users in the Asia Pacific region of the Tessitura CRM platform for arts and cultural organisations. This year’s conference agenda will include more than 55 presentations, discussion sessions, learning labs and networking events, with streams for Marketing, Memberships, Philanthropy and Ticketing. Generous sponsorship by several of Tessitura Network’s ecosystem partners has made this programme possible.

Tessitura Network Board Chair and Executive Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre Philippe Magid will officially open ANZTRUC 2019 with Tessitura Network’s Senior Vice President of Technology and Co-Founder Chuck Reif. In the Technology Update to follow, Reif and Senior Vice President of Digital Kristin Darrow will unveil the latest user-informed enhancements and features of the Tessitura platform that will empower organisations to deepen relationships with their patrons.

The welcome session at ANZTRUC 2018

Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of Tessitura in interactive Roadmap sessions, get the lowdown on regional trends in subscriptions and philanthropy from the release of the 2018 Tessitura Network Regional Benchmarking Studies results, and share arts and culture success stories in over a dozen peer-led case study sessions.

“2019 is set to be a record year for ANZTRUC participation, with over 340 people from 51 organisations — out of a total of 52 Tessitura Network member organisations in the region — attending,” says Jeremy Dixon, Tessitura Network’s Managing Director Asia Pacific.

“The Tessitura team has worked closely with a reinvigorated, enthusiastic and engaged new ANZTRUC Committee to deliver the highest quality conference imaginable,” Dixon added. “A robust programme of talks and interactive sessions has been curated by the Content Advisory team made up of representatives from some of the region’s leading arts and cultural organisations. This team collaborated closely with Tessitura Network team members, led by Amalia Hordern, the Network’s Associate Director for the region.”

Highlights of this this year’s programme include two keynote presentations and the next talk in Tessitura’s longstanding Innovator Series

In The Value of Culture, Dr Tully Barnett, Research Fellow at Flinders University will discuss Laboratory Adelaide: The Value of Culture. The innovative and thought-provoking project delves beyond the economic to fully assess the value culture provides to individuals, communities and nations.

The second keynote, from Kanesan Nathan, will pose the question, “Could we start a human revolution with kindness, and if we could, how would we do it?” In what promises to be an inspiring talk, Nathan will share insights from his social media campaign The Embassy of Kindness, which has shown how simple conversations about kindness can change everything.

People talking and networking at ANZTRUC

In his live Innovator Series talk, Philippe Magid will share how artistic and executive leadership at Bangarra Dance Theatre are collaborating to create inspiring experiences that change society. Magid’s talk will demonstrate how powerful outcomes are achieved when artistic and administrative teams truly unite on a shared goal.

Another exciting event will be the ANZTRUC debut of TN Inspire!. A highlight from previous Tessitura Learning and Community Conferences, TN Inspire! presents a series of speakers who each have five minutes and twenty slides to tell their story. The session will be hosted by Jade Moore of Arts Centre Melbourne, who presented at TLCC in 2018.

Building on the recent launch of Tessitura Analytics, Tessitura’s next-generation business intelligence suite, Business Intelligence for Our Industry will explore the power and potential of data to transform the business of arts and culture. And The Future of Technology will feature an open conversation with Kristin Darrow, Tessitura Network’s Senior Vice President of Digital; Nic Boling, Chief Technology Officer, Sydney Opera House; and Greg Turner, Chief Technology Officer at ACMI.

Tessitura Network President, Andrew Recinos will team up with Amalia Hordern to bring ANZTRUC2019 to a close in their keynote, “How to be a Poetical Scientist.”

“ANZTRUC is an event that instigates conversations and collaborations in our industry here,” said Dixon, “so we are excited to see what emerges from this year’s event.”

The conference is made possible by Principal Sponsor L2 + Prospect2, Major Sponsors Payment Express and Bravo, Supporting Sponsors Wordfly, Made Media and House of Tickets and Contributing Sponsor TodayTix for their generous support of ANZTRUC 2019.
