v11 General Release is available for download in TASK Online

The Network is pleased to announce that the official General Release of Tessitura version 11, the first release to incorporate Next Generation technology, has been posted in TASK and is available for download in the Tessitura Version Upgrades category of the Version Upgrades and Patches workspace.  The build is in Solution # 41 titled Tessitura version 11 General Release.  The official build number for this release is v11.0.2.  All of the elements of the General Release download have been modified since the v11 Pre-Release was posted.

If you are a RAMP customer, you need take no action at this time.  RAMP licensees will be contacted to schedule the installation of the General Release for testing and subsequent production purposes and have been sent this notice to ensure you are aware of the General Release.

Prerequisites

  • In order to install Tessitura v11, SQL Server 2008 R2 must be in place on the applicable database server.
  • The Data Migration Toolkit must first be installed and the required data mapping must be completed. Although the Migration Toolkit may be installed and used on any release of v10 (The v10.0 General Release or the v10.0.0.1 or v10.1.0.0 post release patch versions) the v10.1.0.0 patch should not be installed after the Migration Toolkit has been implemented as the Toolkit's reports will be overwritten.
  • Licensees who are running N-Scan access control must have installed the most current version of N-Scan, v5.31, for use with Tessitura v11.  If you are not using N-Scan at this time, no action in this regard is required.  The N-Scan v5.31 upgrade is available for download in Solution #30 of the TASK “Version Upgrades and Patches” workspace.

There is a file in the TASK General Release Solution called "v11_General_Release_Readme.zip" that includes v11 preparation and installation documentation as listed below. While a few of these documents are applicable only to locally-hosted Tessitura installations, those highlighted in bold contain important information for all licensees including RAMP installations.

As the official General Release, v11.0.2 is sanctioned by the Network for installation in the production environment.  Those sites that are currently converting to Tessitura are asked to contact their Implementation specialist for assistance in installing this upgrade.  It is very important to note that this release, as is always the case, should be installed in your testing environment prior to upgrading your production system to ensure that the release is thoroughly tested so that any problems encountered can be worked through with Tessitura Network Support before your live environment is affected.

Per the Tessitura Network Membership Agreement, licensees must upgrade to a new version within 90 days of the version's General Release date.  Recognizing that this upgrade will take more time to prepare for, test and bring into production than past releases, the Network is departing from this policy for v11 by extending the deadline just beyond 120 days.  As such, the official deadline for upgrading from v10 to v11 is September 1, 2012.

As always, Network Support is available to assist with questions regarding the 11 upgrade instructions and to provide planning and troubleshooting advice.  Additionally, the Tessitura Network Consulting team is available to help any license holder with installing v11 and future releases.  Tessitura Network Consulting offers several types of bundled v11 Packages targeted for those who don’t want to go it on their own. These options are packaged at specially reduced Network member consulting rates and are bundled based on assistance which can be selected as a package containing multiple services for the most savings, or on an à la carte basis.  Licensee holders interested in post-implementation consulting services should contact Consulting for further information.

Please report any question you have or problems you detect with the new release via a TASK Online help ticket, and please be sure to select "11.0.2" as the version.

Please inform Bob Bell when your organization has installed v11 in production by sending an email to bbell@tessituranetwork.com.

This is an exciting milestone for the Tessitura Network. With the help of our alpha, beta and early adopter license holders, we are very confident with the testing of v11 for this launch, and with the capabilities of the new technology and functionality. As of the time of writing this release notice, we have five license holders live with v11 and eight consortium members live as well. Several have been live for weeks. The early adopters range from small to medium to large organizations of many types and in multiple countries. The early adopters also consist of a mix of those organizations that operate their own servers and organizations that operate using the hosted RAMP model to deploy Tessitura. We look forward to assisting where needed and we appreciate your feedback.
