Important Hotfix available for all releases of v12
Tessitura v12.0 and v12.1 use a CLR (common runtime language) procedure to enable the SOAP API stored procedures to retrieve product pricing information from the REST pricing service. We have found that there is an intermittent issue with this code path that sometimes causes the CLR procedure to become unresponsive. We have decided to remove this method of retrieving pricing via the SOAP API for the time being and will replace it with a different method in V12.5.
To achieve this, the Network has released a hotfix compatible with v12.0.3, v12.1.0 and v12.1.2 that reverts SOAP API pricing retrieval away from the CLR/REST procedure back to the original stored procedures. Additionally, the hotfix improves Best Seating in some cases. Although this hotfix is appropriate for installation on all v12.0.3, v12.1.0 and v12.1.2 systems, following standard Network policy to post hotfixes only for the most current release, this hotfix is posted in TASK Solution #82 titled "v12.1.2 General Release Hotfixes" in the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace.
Please note that you should only see a difference in the unlikely event that you are using interceptors on the REST pricing methods on your website to change prices being returned by SOAP methods (such as GetPerformanceDetail, etc.). The ability to use interceptors to affect pricing through the SOAP API will return in v12.5. Interceptors on the REST pricing methods through the client application will be unaffected by this hotfix.
The Network highly recommends the installation of this hotfix for all licensees running a current release of v12.x to eliminate the possibility for the underlying problem to occur in your environment. As always, we strongly suggest installing the hotfix on your Test system and testing web pricing so that any problems can be addressed with Tessitura Support before your Production system is impacted. RAMP licensees need take no action at this time as the hotfix has been installed on all RAMP databases running Tessitura v12.
