As of January 1, 2018, Tessitura will no longer support integration with the Transcend payment processing application.

On May 22, 2014, Tessitura Network announced that there would be no further development on the Transcend platform integration and urged all organizations to migrate off of Transcend.  Since that time, almost all of North American Tessitura organizations have migrated to one of the platforms that we have continued active development with – Vantiv and Payment Express.

We have now announced an end of life for the Transcend integration as of January 1, 2018, providing a full year for organizations to migrate.  We have continued to actively develop new payment functionality with both of the current North American payment processing providers, including tokenization and support for EMV – neither of these features are available with our integration with Transcend.

We are very glad to now have two excellent payment processing options for North American Tessitura organizations – Vantiv and Payment Express.  Both offer the same Tessitura integration feature-set, including support for tokenization and EMV.  Tokenization in Tessitura provides your organization the ability to utilize features such as auto-billing and auto-renewals without storing credit cards in your database.  EMV support is required for chip and signature card readers introduced last year in the United States.

Unlike Transcend’s Tessitura integration, neither Vantiv nor Payment Express require additional hardware or software and are fully hosted outside of your organization.  There is no initial license or set-up fee for either and each provide competitive pricing based on your organization’s needs and transaction volume.

More information:

  • Vantiv (formerly Element) has been integrated with Tessitura since 2012.  Vantiv offers two models – either an “acquired” arrangement where they serve as both payment gateway and payment processor, or “gateway” mode where they serve as a gateway to other processors.
  • Payment Express has been integrated with Tessitura in our Australia/New Zealand region for ten years, and began working with North American Tessitura organizations last year.  Payment Express is a “gateway only” model, providing a connection to many of the major processors.

As each of your organizations has different requirements, processors and volumes, we recommend evaluating both providers to determine the best fit.  For much more information and details please visit our EMV page, which details some of the key offerings and differences between the two providers.  This page also offers direct links to each processor’s information and instructions on how to contact them.  With the introduction of EMV last year, we have also created a page that provides information on device and processor availability for EMV compatibility.

It was in response to user feedback and industry need that we made the decision a number of years ago to migrate our focus to these hosted providers.  We are providing a year to make this switch but urge you to consider making the switch sooner as your timing enables.  As you can see, there are many great benefits to making this change.

We are glad to now offer North American support for multiple gateways and all major processors.  The documentation on our website should answer your most common questions.  We also have experts on our team who are available to answer your questions as you migrate in the coming year.  If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us at paymentprocessors@tessituranetwork.com and we will be glad to assist you.
