Tessitura v14 Service Pack 1 has been released - Information for Locally Installed Licensees
We are pleased to announce we have released our first Tessitura v14 Service Pack.
As noted in the v14 release announcement last month, as part of the v14 release we are moving away from a stand-alone hotfix model to a cumulative monthly Service Pack model. Historically we have released single hotfixes as high priority defects were identified and resolved; this often proved difficult to install, manage, and support. At the recommendation of many of our users, and to provide a more industry-standard experience, we hope that the Service Pack model will provide a simpler and more consistent method for sites to keep up to date with the current defect fixes.
Service Packs are a full build of the application released on a monthly cycle with any high priority fixes we find for the current release. Because the Service Packs are a full build, they are cumulative; if you miss a month you need only install the currently released Service Pack to become current.
Service Packs are released via the Version Upgrades and Patches workspace in TASK. Currently available is the first v14 Service Pack: v14.0.1. If you have installed v14 already in Live or Test, apply the current Service Pack over your v14 instance. If you are on v12.5.1, the currently available general release has been replaced with the current Service Pack. Make sure when upgrading to v14 to download the currently posted release from TASK Version Upgrades and Patches Solution # 110to get the version including the most current Service Pack. If you are in the process of implementing Tessitura, please contact your Implementation Specialist to discuss installing the Service Pack.
When applying a Service Pack you will use the Tessitura Installation Manager (TIM). The upgrade steps for each Service Pack will be the same. As Service Packs are effectively rolled up hotfixes they are not more functionally impactful than applying a stand-alone hotfix. Our intention is for you to be able to apply these Service Packs regularly with little to no testing overhead.
Defects fixed in Service Packs are high priority defects to the current release. A high priority defect is one that the Support and product Development teams have determined impact expected operational behavior to the level that an update should be deployed sooner than the next planned release.
To keep up to date on current Service Pack releases, issues resolved in Service Packs, and any Service Pack announcements follow the Service Pack page on www.tessituranetwork.com via RSS feed. We will also issue a Support Alert on the website when Service Packs are released. Sign up for the Support Alert RSS feedand be automatically notified when we publish a new Support Alert. Please note that the release of future Service Packs will be communicated only via Support Alerts and the Service Pack page so subscribing to the RSS feeds is the best way to ensure you are aware of future releases.
Service Packs are posted in TASK Online and available for download in the "Tessitura Version Upgrades" category of the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace. If you have a TASK login with permission to access the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace, log in here. TASK LOGIN >
