Tessitura v14 has been released

We are pleased to announce that Tessitura Version 14 is now available for your organization.

We are also pleased to announce the introduction of a new Service Pack model for defect resolution deployment that will replace standalone hotfixes in conjunction with the v14 release.

Upgrade Timing

The Tessitura Network Membership Agreement requires licensees to upgrade to the new required release within a specified upgrade window. To allow maximum flexibility, the upgrade window for v14 will be 12 months. The upgrade deadline will be July 6, 2018. Per the Tessitura Network Membership Agreement, all sites will need to be on v14 by that date. For those new to Tessitura, please note that Tessitura does not charge for upgrades. New versions are included as a benefit of our nonprofit membership-based cooperative company.

Prerequisites

  • You must be running Tessitura v12.5.1 in order to upgrade to Tessitura v14.
  • In order to install Tessitura v14, SQL Server 2012 or higher must be in place on the applicable database server. The database and service servers can run on Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher.

Technical Notes

  • As part of the v14 upgrade, the Payment Gateway Service has been consolidated into the Tessitura Service (REST) service. The upgrade process will install the new consolidated service. A separate payment gateway service and server are no longer necessary.
  • For version 14, the PowerBuilder (PBVM) folder on each client machine must be updated with new backward compatible runtime files, which are included with this version. See the installation documentation for more information.
  • InfoMaker 12.6 is required for InfoMaker-based custom reports and screens.
  • As the official General Release, v14 is sanctioned by the Network for installation in the production environment. Those sites that are currently converting to Tessitura are asked to contact their Implementation specialist for assistance in installing this upgrade. It is very important to note that this release, as is always the case, should be installed in your testing environment prior to upgrading your production system to ensure that the release is thoroughly tested, including any customized reports, screens, procedures and plugins, so that any problems encountered can be worked through with Tessitura Network Support before your live environment is impacted.

Accessing the Upgrade Files

The Tessitura version v14 Release has been posted in TASK and is available for download in the "Tessitura Version Upgrades" category of the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace. The build is in Solution # 110 titled "Tessitura Version 14.0 Release." The zip file in Solution # 110 can be used to upgrade an existing system from v12.5.1 to v14 or to fully install v14 in a new environment. There are separate links in the Solution for upgrade instructions and for full installation instructions so please ensure that you are using the correct documentation for your situation.  If you are in the process of implementing Tessitura, please contact your Implementation Specialist to discuss installing the upgrade.

About Service Packs

With Tessitura v14, we will move away from releasing stand-alone hotfixes to a Service Pack model for the release of defect resolutions.

  • Approximately once per month, a Service Pack will be released to provide v14 high impact defect fixes.
  • The Service Packs will be installed using TIM (the Tessitura Installation Manager).
  • Instructions for applying each Service Pack will be identical.
  • Each Service Pack will be cumulative – applying the most recent Service Pack will install all fixes released to date.

All licensees will be notified via email when the first v14 Service Pack is released to provide further details and instructions. Additionally, we will post a Support Alert on tessituranetwork.com with the first and subsequent Service Pack releases to notify you of updates. You can activate an RSS Subscription for Support Alerts on the website to ensure you are always notified of these and other important topics.

We hope that the new Service Pack model will help everyone to both streamline the deployment of fixes and provide better assurance that all fixes released to date have been installed.
