V12.0 Pre-Release is available for download in TASK Online

Version 12.0 is the first part of the Version 12 Release Cycle, and is the biggest functional release in the history of the Network. With major new capabilities around fundraising moves management, pricing setup, communication management and much more, Version 12.0 offers a wealth of new opportunities to make your businesses more efficient and effective. We are very excited to now have Version 12.0 in Pre-release and available for your organizations to begin your testing.

The Tessitura version v12.0 Pre-Release 2 has been posted in TASK Online and is available for download in the "Tessitura Version Upgrades" category of the "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace. The build is in Solution # 57 titled "Tessitura Version 12.0 Pre-Release 2 (v12.0.0)". The Network is making this release available to all locally-hosted Tessitura installations at this time for testing purposes in the test environment. Please note that the TASK Solution for v12.0 Pre-Release 1 has been disabled.

Prerequisites

  • You must be running either v12 Pre-Release 1, the v11.0.3 General Release, or the v11.0.4 post release patch version of Tessitura in order to install the v12.0 Pre-Release.
  • In order to install Tessitura v12, SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012 R2 must be in place on the applicable database server. The database and service servers can run on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012.
  • If installing to a v11 system, the v12 Data Migration Toolkit must first be installed and the required data mapping must be completed. Although the Migration Toolkit may be installed and used on any release of v11 (the v11.0.3 General Release or the v11.0.4 post release patch versions) the v11.0.4 patch should not be installed after the Migration Toolkit has been implemented. The v12 Data Migration Toolkit is available for download in Solution #53 of the TASK "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace.
  • Organizations on TNEW v3.5 are required to upgrade to the latest release of TNEW before the v12 upgrade. If you have any questions about what release you're currently running or to schedule your TNEW upgrade simply open a TASK ticket in the "Web Products" workspace.
  • As with version 11, licensees who are running N-Scan access control must have installed the most current version of N-Scan, v5.3 or higher, for use with Tessitura v12. If you are not using N-Scan at this time, no action in this regard is required. The N-Scan v5.31 upgrade is available for download in Solution #30 of the TASK "Version Upgrades and Patches" workspace.

Please direct any questions about these prerequisites to Tessitura Support by submitting a TASK help ticket in the "User Support Tickets" workspace.

Please note the following:

Locally-hosted Tessitura installations that have an immediate need to put this Pre-Release into production before we announce the General Release may do so. However, please contact Bob Bell before putting the Pre-Release into Production, as there are some caveats about an early install that should be discussed. In any case, the Pre-Release should be installed and tested in the test environment prior to installing it in production. Please note that as this is a Pre-Release, additional builds of v12.0 may be required before the version is sanctioned by the Network as the General Release. The General Release is slated to be announced within the next few weeks. We are notifying you of the Pre-Release availability in case you want to begin testing now or need to go live due to your own timing / season. For those who go live with Pre-Release, the General Release will be a required upgrade.

In order to maintain version control across the Tessitura hosted environment and to minimize upgrade installation and testing time for both licensees and the RAMP team, the v12 Pre-Release will not be installed in the RAMP environment. Upon the v12 General Release in the coming weeks, RAMP licensees will be contacted to schedule the installation of the General Release for testing and subsequent production purposes.

Starting with this release we will be linking to v12 Upgrade documentation instead of posting a readme zip file. A list of links for the v12 upgrade documents can be found below. Those highlighted in bold contain important information for all licensees including RAMP installations. A full set of v12 documents can be found on the Tessitura Network v12 Documents page.

Defects to Note

  • Tessitura Web/Mobile Application: In this Pre-Release, the Tessitura Web application is included in TIM as Web Application and can be installed but is not yet ready for use in a LIVE environment. At the time of General Release, Web Reports and Web Application will be merged into a single installer and run as a unified application.
  • Season Manager/Season Maintenance/Pricing: Save as Template is currently disabled. This will be resolved in the General Release.

Defects resolved in this second build of the pre-release:

  • SOAP API Reserve Ticket calls were returning an error.
  • SOAP API Pricing was not respecting MOS and returning all price types for a performance.
  • Package line items in ticket orders were only returning a single price type rather than all available price types.
  • Having 10 or more statuses in the Plans Portfolio filter would result in an application crash.

Notes for those upgrading from v12 PR to v12 PR2:

  • The following upgrade steps can be skipped if they were completed during the v12 PR Upgrade:
    • Applying the Migration Toolkit
    • Enable SQL Filestream
    • Extraction Upgrade Options
    • Add Service Path to Master ini File
    • Ticket History Update (applying the Standard Ticket History is optional and if applied during the v12 PR Upgrade does not need to be re-applied during the v12 PR2 Upgrade)
  • Immediate Actions Post Upgrade (if completed during the v12 PR Upgrade these actions can be skipped during the v12 PR2 Upgrade)
    • Tessitura Print at Home Ticket Service (no update)
    • Seat Server Upgrade (no update)
  • The Upgrade and Migration process is designed to skip installation steps that have been successfully completed during the v12 PR1 upgrade. This will result in much shorter TIM Upgrade and Migration times for those upgrading from v12 PR to v12 PR2.
  • All other steps outlined in the Tessitura V12 Upgrade Instructions should be followed.

As always, Network Support is available to assist with questions regarding the 12.0 version upgrade instructions and to provide planning and troubleshooting advice. Additionally, the Tessitura Network Consulting team is available to help any license holder with installing v12.0 and future releases. Tessitura Network Consulting offers several types of bundled v12 Packages targeted for those who don't want to go it on their own. These options are packaged at specially reduced Network member consulting rates and are bundled based on assistance which can be selected as a package containing multiple services for the most savings, or on an à la carte basis. Licensee holders interested in post-implementation consulting services should contact Consulting for further information.

Please report any problems you detect with the Pre-Release by submitting a TASK help ticket in the "User Support Tickets" workspace, and please be sure to select "12.0 PR2" as the version.
