Comparing the Citrix XenApp and 2x Parallels application delivery methods.
Comparing Citrix XenApp and 2x
We are continually reviewing and, where needed, looking to improve the user experience for organizations on the RAMP, the Tessitura Network's hosted platform. Our most recent focus has been on what we call application delivery - the technology we use to deliver Tessitura to user desktops. The current technology we use for application delivery is 2x. The 2x technology has largely served us well since the introduction of RAMP a number of years ago.
After reviewing 2x along with several other products to determine our current and future needs for application delivery, we have decided to move away from 2x and switch to XenApp, a product provided by Citrix. Citrix XenApp is an industry-leading, enterprise-class product, and we are excited to offer this new technology to all RAMP organizations.
Overall, the day-to-day user experience with Citrix is very similar to what you are used to with 2x, with Citrix providing a number of additional benefits around supported devices, gracefulness around connectivity and other features.
